pride

I don't cry anymore.

You are in between my seams and stitches

and the mornings when

there is no more light

other than 

the late moon.

But believe me, I am proud

my tears do not fall to the ground

when it is time to leave you

again in the noon

because I don't cry anymore.

Instead

I listen to the dimmed hum between my ears and the years,

and I can hear my thoughts

finding a happier place,

still counting

down

the days

but with far greater grace.
